1.1 Account information: email address, username, and password (stored only as a secure hash).

1.2 Profile information you choose to add: profile photo, daily supplement routine, and any optional settings.

1.3 User Content: reviews, ratings, comments, photos you upload, votes, saved posts, and reports you submit.

1.4 Usage data: pages visited, search queries entered on the App, and aggregate interaction data used to operate and improve the service.

1.5 Technical data: browser type, device type, and approximate region derived from your IP address, collected through standard server logs.

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To display your reviews, comments, and public profile to other users.
• To rank, sort, and filter content on the App.
• To understand search trends and improve the App in aggregate form.
• To moderate content, investigate reports, and enforce our Terms.
• To respond to support requests you send us.

3.1 Any supplement or health-related experiences you share are provided voluntarily and may be visible to other users. Please do not post information you are not comfortable making public.

3.2 We do not use your posts to build a medical profile of you, and we do not provide your information to healthcare providers, insurers, or advertisers for health targeting.

4.1 We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand aggregate usage of the App.

4.2 Where required, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies via our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies, though some features may stop working.

5.1 We do not sell your personal information.

5.2 We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App (for example, hosting and authentication providers), bound by confidentiality obligations.

5.3 We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

6.1 We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. Content removed by you or by moderation may persist in backups for a limited period.

6.2 We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security in our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7.1 You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting ratemysupplements@gmail.com.

7.2 You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. On deletion, your profile and personal identifiers are removed; previously posted content may be anonymized or removed at our discretion.

7.3 We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8.2 Legal bases: we process your account information to perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)); analytics and non-essential cookies only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time; and moderation, security and fraud prevention on the basis of our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).

8.3 Health-related content: reviews describing how a supplement affected you may reveal information about your health. You choose to publish this content, so where special category data is involved we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)) and on the fact that you have manifestly made it public (Article 9(2)(e)). Do not post health details you are not comfortable making public.

8.4 Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. You can exercise access and portability yourself at any time using "Download my data" in Settings, and erasure using "Delete my account". We respond to written requests within 30 days and do not charge for them.

8.5 Automated decision-making: we do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

8.6 International transfers: our hosting and database providers may process data outside the EEA and UK, including in Canada and the United States. Such transfers rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses with appropriate safeguards.

8.7 Retention: account and content data are kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion, other than limited backup copies that expire on their normal cycle. Support messages are kept for up to 24 months.

8.8 Complaints: you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, or with the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are in the UK.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The App supports keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, screen-reader labels on controls, text that resizes, and a dark mode with sufficient contrast. If any part of the App is difficult for you to use, email ratemysupplements@gmail.com and we will work with you on an accessible alternative.

The App is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
